Italian language school in Italy – Conte Ruggiero School in Calabria
Conte Ruggiero School was founded in 1984 in Calabria. It is one of the first Italian language schools in South Italy teaching Italian as a foreign language. Calabria with its 800km of coast, its crystal-clear sea and its romantic beaches will surprise you with its beautiful natural surroundings but also its historic places and its lovely medieval cities. Our school is located near to the famous Tropea, in the charming village of Santa Domenica.
As always, students appreciate the family atmosphere of a small school. The school is located in a huge area of land, a big orange garden where citrus fruits are organically cultivated. You will also admire olive, avocado, mulberry and banana trees, a lot of plants… a real earthly paradise!
Conte Ruggiero is the only Italian language school of its kind in all Italy: classes are not only held inside the friendly classrooms but mostly outside in the school-garden under bougainvillea, banana and avocado trees. It’s the best place for being in contact with the language and Italian people!

Our Philosophy
Our philosophy of teaching a new language is that it has to be effective while – why not? - being fun and relaxing. These are the best conditions for a good learning process.
Everything is important when you learn a foreign language and grammar is at the base, of course. What is new is the approach to it and the interactivity between students and teachers in a pleasant atmosphere, with no fear at all to talk or to make mistakes.
