The following general terms and conditions apply booking your Italian course with Conte Ruggiero School:
1.Italian language courses
The Italian language courses are held from Monday to Friday. Every lesson is 45 minutes long. Students will receive a link to our online-entry-test already before their arrival in order to determine their starting language level. On the first day there will take place just a short oral test before starting the classes. The entry test, any other possible test done during the course or at the end of it, is considered part of the lesson.
The maximum number of participants in a course is 10. In the unlikely event there are less than three students of the same linguistic level, their course and level will be guaranteed but it will be considered as a semi-individual or individual and the length of the lessons will be reduced. This will be in any case an upgrade compared to the group-course which has been originally booked and paid.
Lessons are not held on the following public holidays: 01/01; 06/01; “Pasquetta” (Easter Monday); 25/04; 01/05; 02/06; 15/08; 01/11; 08/12; 25/12; 26/12. Please note that group-lessons lost on public holidays will not be refunded.
2.Certificate of attendance: At the end of the course, every participant will receive a certificate of attendance where the number of the lessons attended, his/her linguistic level and the general content of the lessons will be certified. If you need an intermediate and/or final assessment in order to get credits for a University having an agreement with our school, please talk to the Director of Studies on your first course day.
3.Accommodation: The accommodation provided by the school is only available to course participants. Arrivals are only possible on Sundays before the course start and departures are on Saturdays following course finish date. If you have any problems related to your flight, it is possible to anticipate the arrival on Saturday or postpone the departure on Sunday. It is not permitted to stay in the accommodation longer without attending the course.
4.Enrollment and Charges: To enroll you have to fill in the on-line form. The one-time registration fee for every student applies only once per year. With your application you commit yourself to the booking conditions. You will receive your invoice by e-mail. At this point, when the invoice is issued, your booking will be considered effective. A deposit of 25% of the total amount is due when you receive the invoice. The invoice must be paid in full at latest four weeks before departure. The only form of payment we accept is by bank transfer; the account number will be on the invoice. Please write your name, surname and invoice number on the causal.
5.Visa: In order to issue a student visa, you have to apply to the nearest Italian embassy/consulate providing the school letter of acceptance. According to the Italian law, in order to get the school letter of acceptance, the total amount of the booked course must be paid. In case of visa refusal, the student must provide the school with the letter of refusal issued by the embassy/consulate at the latest 14 days before departure.
The school will immediately see to refund the entire sum charged, less bank charges and shipping fees. The visa letter can be sent by e-mail without extra costs or by carrier; in this case all the expenses are to be charged to the student. We advise to book the language course as soon as possible. Please note that, in case a student with a study visa does not show up at the school, Conte Ruggiero School is obliged to report the name and personal details to the respective Italian authorities.
6.Cancellation fees: A cancellation will only be effective when we receive written confirmation of the cancellation. If you cancel within 30 days before your arrival date, we will retain 25% of the total booking cost. If you cancel less than 30 days prior to arrival, we will retain 50% of the invoice total amount. After the arrival date, there is no refund in any circumstances.
7.Liability
The school is not responsible for the loss of personal property on its premises.
8.Insurance
Before leaving for Italy, students are advised to take out a medical insurance. European Union citizens will have to carry their European Health Insurance Card to receive the same medical treatments as Italian citizens.
Going ahead with your booking, you accept the general terms and conditions as above.
